Five Steps to a High-ROI Black Female Influencer Marketing Program

When it comes to contracting black female influencers, designing a high ROI campaign should be once of your goals in addition to building long-term relationships. Below are five essential steps to a high-ROI black female influencer marketing campaign.

Step 1: Confirm your success metrics

In order to build the most effective high-ROI influencer marketing program, the first thing you must do is confirm your success metrics. You cannot build a campaign, a successful one, at that if you do not know how you will measure success. It is important to be clear here as there's no need to second guess what success is for you.

Step 2: Clearly define your desired target audience and influencer

Next, you want to clearly define both your target audience as well as your influencer profile. Having this information in advance will help you have a better understanding of who you're trying to reach how you're going to reach them and the type of influencers that will work best for your campaign.

Step 3: Activate influencers with an average engagement rate of 3% or higher

Step 3, you want to really identify those influencers who have a high engagement rate. A rule of thumb for us is we typically work with influencers that have an average engagement rate of 3% or higher. The higher the engagement rate the more likely you are to achieve your desired results.

Step 4: Be clear on the type of content you need

Step 4, be very clear on the type of content that you need. This should align with your success metric so that you are achieving the outcome that you are seeking. You also want to collaborate on the content with your influencer and/or agency. Providing directional copy allows for the influencer to have some idea of what you're looking for. Then allow them to create the content that is most authentic to their audience will be more fruitful.

Step 5: Analyze the analytics

Lastly, you want to make sure you're analyzing the analytics and comparing it to your KPI's. Ask yourself, did this campaign deliver holistically? if it did, great! if it didn't, why? Which influencers performed the best? What was the cost vs media value? What was the cost per engagement? Analyzing all of these things will really help you determine how effective or cost-effective your influencer marketing plan was.
